After the design and material selection are completed, we will draw the general shape of the knife on the selected material. Before quenching, drill several holes and make several grooves on the handle to prevent the sharp edge of the hole from breaking the handle rope. The knife has gradually formed. Next, we will grind the blade. There are many kinds of blades, including single blade and double blade. The blade needs to be grinded out slowly with a grinder. At this time, it should be noted that overheating of the grinding tool body for a long time will damage the steel performance! That will seriously affect the quality of the knife.



The blade is ground and then quenched. Quenching makes the tool harder. Before quenching, a very fine mud should be mixed into a thin mud, which should be evenly smeared on the knife body of the tool. These mud are collectively called cutting edge soil, to prevent the uniformity of quenching from being affected during quenching. First heat the knife to about 900 degrees, then soak it in cold water. When it is completely cooled, take the knife out. Knock the burning edge soil off the wooden workbench with a wooden hammer or a leather hammer. After 30 minutes, heat the knife body again to about 180-220 degrees, so that the knife body will naturally cool in the air. This process is called tempering, to ensure the toughness and durability of the knife!
