Holding Method And Maintenance Method Of Battle Axe Far grip method

Click:129 seen

When holding the axe, the thumb, index finger and middle finger are mainly used for force, and the axe should rotate around these three fingers. This grip method, which mainly uses the first three fingers for force, can make your grip point closer to the center of gravity of the axe, thus improving the flexibility when hitting. The last two fingers were buckled on the handle. The hand holding the axe should be relatively relaxed, and it should be tightened only when attacking and defending, so as to achieve a balance between flexibility and stability. There is a saying that when holding a weapon, you should be like holding a bird - don't try too hard to avoid hurting it, and don't relax too much to prevent it from flying away. You will find that the Tomahawk is not a bird, but a fierce and strong bird. But you can still find a balance between relaxation and exertion to achieve relatively easy control. The advantages of the far grip method include the maximum attack range, attack power, versatility and hook ability, as well as good defensive ability, which can be applied to most defensive techniques.

Proximate grip
In this grip, the hand is held at the upper end of the handle, the head of the axe is close to or close to the thumb side of the hand, the axe tip is facing forward, protecting the knuckles, and most of the handle protrudes from the back of the palm edge. In this grip, the attack distance is greatly shortened, and the battle axe has basically become a pointed tiger with a blade, which is especially suitable for close hand to hand combat, or when using the edge of the axe to cut, this grip can generate greater leverage. In addition, in this grip, the axe handle exposed behind the hand can also implement some unique offensive and defensive techniques.

It should be noted that this grip is an indispensable part of the application of the Tomahawk. With it, the combat system of the Tomahawk is complete. When you pull the battle axe out of the axe cover at your waist, you usually hold it like this. Most of the designs of war axes can apply this grip method well (some are even designed for the close grip method). Except for those axes with a thin neck, this grip method will be more uncomfortable. However, for this kind of axe, do a simple transformation and wrap a little bit on the upper end of the handle. The advantages of the close grip method include that it can be taken out quickly, the powerful attack power and cutting ability of the close fist front, and the unique use of the axe handle, such as hook, block, and capture the opponent's weapons.

Two handed grip
This is a temporary grip. The dominant hand is the remote grip, while the other hand can hold the handle near the head (or vice versa). The palm can be up or down. The joint force of both hands can play a powerful role as a lever, mainly used for blocking, hitting, cutting and catching. Generally speaking, when using the remote grip method, it is difficult to generate leverage force on the head of the axe unless it is waved vigorously, making the head a "weak point". Both ends of the axe can generate strong leverage by using the two handed grip method.

Daily maintenance of Tomahawk

1. When not using the battle axe in daily life, avoid exposing the axe blade, and do not insert it in tree stumps or other places. Try to protect the axe blade with a sheath. On the one hand, protect the axe blade from damage, and on the other hand, avoid being injured by mistake. At the same time, avoid the rusting of the axe, pay attention to the cleaning of the blade surface, keep it dry after use, wipe it occasionally, and oil it regularly.

2. Regularly check and maintain the axe head. Before use, check the connection between the axe body and the axe handle. If it is found to be loose, reinforce it in time, or send it back for maintenance. Otherwise, it is likely to cause unpredictable damage such as falling axe blade.

3. Always pay attention to the sharpness of the axe blade. The theory of "blunt knife hurts people" is also applicable to the axe, because it is difficult for a blunt axe blade to play its due role, and it is likely to rebound if it is used too hard.
